Maasai, Kenya

Date Coming Soon!

In the year 2020, so much of the world is quickly becoming developed and modernized. Even in some of the most impoverished countries, you can still see people walking around with smart phones or logging online in internet cafes. Globalization and technology have truly made the world one big, connected community.

But even in this modern age, the Maasai people in Kenya are some of the rare holdouts. As a nomadic people whose occupation for centuries has been husbandry, they live in primitive, mud huts and walk almost everywhere they go. As a tribe, they are hesitant to be influenced away from their traditions, even as many individuals long for hope beyond what they can see.

The wildlife in this part of Kenya is quite real and nearby as well! Be prepared to see a monkey, spot an elephant or hear a lion’s roar. Our last mission team to arrive in 2018 even held their evangelism meetings in the afternoon, long before sunset, to avoid the danger for villagers of walking home after dark.

Slowly but surely, the message of Jesus’ love is seeping into even the most guarded of traditions like the Maasai. And those who are drawn in by the love of Christ are grateful for the light that brings into their lives!

Come to Africa and show the Maasai people no matter who they are, where they live, or how much they have, Jesus loves them.
