Come join QHM in Santa Cruz del Quiché, Guatemala for our long-awaited first trip in 2022! The team will help grow their church communties through evangelistic work in Santa Cruz del Quiché. The team will present the My Friend Jesus evangelistic series and the Friendship Hour children's programs at five sites in the city. The team will also hold daily health screenings, including a free dental clinic, and participate in a church renovation project during the week.
Trip Overview
Your mission with Quiet Hour Ministries in Guatemala will be to share how the love and grace of Jesus has the power to change lives. You will be completely immersed in a new culture, serving alongside local church members to bring hope to the precious people in their communities.
Each day will bring you into contact with different people, each one a child of God. However, many of them don’t share our hope in Jesus’ soon return. Your team will get the opportunity to serve them by participating in the activities outlined below.
The team typically splits in two for the morning activities. Half the team will help with the facilitation of a free basic health screening, which includes eye testing and the provision of reading glasses where needed, while the rest of the team will work with some of the church members on a church renovation or construction project.
UPDATE: We have a dentist signed up to join us on this trip so we will also be holding a free dental clinic as part of the basic health screening.
The evening meetings will take place at venues around town where team members will take on different roles including preaching our My Friend Jesus sermon series, sharing some basic health principles, or helping to facilitate a children’s program. All materials are provided in advance for you to become familiar with, so don’t worry if you’ve never done any of this before!
You will return home with the joy of creating new friendships and building partnerships. You will be a witness to the power of the Holy Spirit working in the lives of the people in Guatemala. We can’t wait to serve the people of Santa Cruz del Quiché with you!
Your team member donation allows for you to be on the team without any extra expense for airfare, double-room lodging, food, or onsite transportation. In addition, your contribution also increases the impact of the project by helping provide on-site outreach resources, transportation, equipment and more. Because of your donation, the people of Santa Cruz del Quiché will have the opportunity to meet Jesus.
All donations must be made by the deadlines specified below or volunteers may face an airfare surcharge. Flights departing from areas outside of major international airports in the continental U.S. may also require an airfare surcharge. We consider all funds received for the mission trip as donations to the project, and in order to protect the tax deductibility of your gifts, all donations are non-refundable.
Minimum donation amounts do not cover any overnight layover hotel charges, luggage fees not included with airfare, departure taxes/arrival fees, visas/passports/tourist cards or any costs that may arise while traveling to and from the mission location.
QHM is not responsible for costs associated with volunteers missing their flights or not being able to travel due to outdated passports or other documents or delays due to testing positive for COVID-19.
