Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

February 14 - 25, 2024

Join our 2024 mission team to the Dominican Republic! The Southeastern DR Conference has asked QHM to partner with them in their evangelistic efforts to grow the Adventist presence in Cuidad Juan Bosch. The current members have been organized into small groups to carry out community service projects in their neighborhoods and expand the reach of the church. Our team will hold an evangelistic series, including children’s programs, and provide basic health screenings in the communities. Your participation on this trip will make an impact for God's kingdom in the Dominican Republic as well as your own life!

Trip Overview

Your mission with Quiet Hour Ministries in the Dominican Republic will be to share how the love and grace of Jesus has the power to change lives. You will be completely immersed in a new culture, serving alongside a team of local church members to bring hope to the precious people in their community.

Each day will bring you into contact with different people, each one a child of God. Yet many of them don't know Jesus in the same way you do. Your team will get the opportunity to serve them by participating in the facilitation of a free basic health screening, which includes eye testing and the provision of reading glasses where needed. You may also be able to participate in a construction project.

In the evenings, the team will split up to hold evangelistic meetings where team members will take on different roles including preaching our My Friend Jesus sermon series, sharing some basic health principles, or helping to facilitate a children's program. All materials are provided in advance for you to become familiar with, so don't worry if you've never done any of this before!

You will return home with the joy of creating new friendships and building partnerships. You will be a witness to the power of the Holy Spirit working in the lives of your team members and in the people of the Dominican Republic.

Team Member Experience

Trip Details

Your team member donation allows for you to be on the team without any extra expense for airfare, double-room lodging, food, or onsite transportation. In addition, your contribution also increases the impact of the project by helping provide on-site outreach resources, transportation, equipment and more. Because of your donation, the people of Santo Domingo will have the opportunity to meet Jesus.

All donations must be made by the deadlines specified below or volunteers may face an airfare surcharge. Flights departing from areas outside of major international airports in the continental U.S. may also require an airfare surcharge. We consider all funds received for the mission trip as donations to the project, and in order to protect the tax deductibility of your gifts, all donations are non-refundable.

Minimum donation amounts do not cover any overnight layover hotel charges, luggage fees not included with airfare, departure taxes/arrival fees, visas/passports/tourist cards or any costs that may arise while traveling to and from the mission location.

QHM is not responsible for costs associated with volunteers missing their flights or not being able to travel due to outdated passports or other documents or delays due to testing positive for COVID-19.

Please contact Georgia Burt at georgiab@qhministries.org or 800-900-9021 with any other questions you might have.
